Obituary

Dennis "Mike" Michael Fegan, 66, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 24, 2025 at home.

Mike was born on November 7, 1958 in Plymouth, MI to the late Edward Patrick and Vivien L. (Anderson) Fegan. He married his first wife Gale and shared three sons together. Then later he met and fell in love with Brenda Kay Jerrett and the two were married on October 8, 2005.

Mike honorably served our Country in the United States Navy for 21 devoted years. He proudly retired as a Lieutenant in the Seabees. Following his time in the service he moved back to Traverse City.

In his spare time Mike liked to work in his shop and he loved to cook. He kept busy with many projects around the house to make it more beautiful. The lower level of his home was dedicated to his years in the service. Mike enjoyed traveling to the Upper Peninsula looking for waterfalls and climbing Sugar Loaf Mountain in Marquette.

Mike will be remembered for his great sense of humor and was always trying to make people laugh. He was loved by everyone that he came into contact with. Whether it be in the military, or working at Elk Rapids School or a stranger on the street. Mike was a good man.

Mike is survived by his wife Brenda, his sons, Max of Saucier, Mississippi, Nathan of Royal Oak, MI, and Gage of Traverse City; his step-daughter Kelly (Sean) Comrie, his grandsons Max and Cain Fegan and Max and Gavin Comrie, his siblings Ruth Chiles, Edward (Beth) Fegan, James Fegan, Jeannette (Tom) Hoopfer and many other loving cousins and friends. He will be especially missed by his beloved dogs Sadie and Stella.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Gale, his sister Patricia Giddis and brother Joe Fegan.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11am with a visitation beginning at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elk Rapids. Burial with Military Honors will take place following the luncheon at the Church at 1:30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
