Traverse City – Diana "Dusty" Grace Doriot passed away early Tuesday morning at the age of 67 in her home surrounded by her husband and two children.
Born in 1950 in Ludington, MI, Dusty received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education from Northwestern Michigan College in 1971. She worked as a Surgical Tech Nurse in the Operating Room at Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital for 24 years and when the hospital closed, she went on to work as an OB Nurse at Munson Medical Center where she later retired after 17 years. Dusty was born with the "nurse" in her…caring and compassion were two of her biggest qualities.
Everyone is blessed in different ways with different strengths. Dusty was a true superhero though…amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend…the ways in which she touched so many lives will never be forgotten and always missed.
Dusty was always active and outgoing. She loved being outside, gardening, boating, and spending time with her family and friends. She had the most wonderful, kind smile that lit up a room and made everyone feel special and loved.
Dusty, along with her husband and children, would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to those family members and close friends for their unwavering support and love...especially over the past few months while Dusty was fighting and overwhelming battle.
Dusty is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Vera (McClellan) Dust. She is survived by her husband Michael, son Scott (Robyn), daughter Jaime, and three grandchildren: Kelton, Grady and Braylon. She is also survived by her two brothers, Dennis (Hazel) Dust and Gregg (Laura) Dust and their two daughters, Sarah and Lisa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the GTACS Capital Campaign.
