Diana Jean Viskochil

Diana Jean (Ferguson) Viskochil, 82, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away peacefully on Friday, July 24, 2026. Diana was born on January 29, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. She was married to Richard Viskochil on April 2, 1966, in Birmingham, Michigan. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2015.

Diana’s career in education began at Berkshire High School in Birmingham, Michigan, she also taught in Raliegh, North Carolina for five years. She participated in the Fulbright Foreign Student Program; this gave her the opportunity to teach in France for two years. Diana finished her career with TCAPS, teaching French for many years at Traverse City Central High School.

She was a proud Michigan State Alumni. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time, watching all Spartan football and basketball games and always rooting on the Red Wings, Lions, Piston and Tigers, while conversing with her favorite brother Gary!

Diana is survived by her brother, Gary Ferguson, her sister, Sharon (Denis) Gagnon and two nephews; Chad Gagnon and Aaron Gagnon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, Roy and Mary Ferguson and a sister, Terry Lee Ferguson.

In accordance with Diana’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
