Diann Carol Avery (Tomaszewski), 57, of Traverse City, passed away December 6, 2022 after a heroic battle with cancer.

Diann was born December 8, 1964, to Harry and Geraldine (Giese) in Mt. Clemens, MI

She graduated from Traverse City Central High School in 1983. On May 31, 1986 she married Daniel S. Avery at Trinity Lutheran Church. They shared a beautiful life and home together on Spider Lake. Throughout the years they enjoyed the majestic sunsets and wildlife together. She enjoyed walks with her rescue dog, Izzy, raising monarch butterflies, gardening and had a special love of nature.

She worked for the family welding business and for TCAPS at East Middle School.

Diann was a kind, selfless individual who always valued the wellbeing of others above her own. She will be sadly missed.

Diann is survived by husband, Dan Avery; her parents Geraldine and Harry Tomaszewski; brothers Alan and Kevin and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A celebration of Diann's life will take place 11:00 AM on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
