Dolores Beverly Miller, 83, of Traverse City and formerly of Saginaw, MI, went peacefully to her Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Munson Medical Center after a prolonged illness.
Dolores was born on February 12, 1930 to the late Lyle E. and Evelyn (Thessin) Welch in Milwaukee, WI.
She moved to Traverse City many years ago from her home in Saginaw. Dolores made her living as a customer representative with Michigan Consolidated Gas retiring after 19 years of service in 1992. She could often be found enjoying her time spent tending to vegetables and flowers in her garden. She also enjoyed shopping, spending countless hours at Younkers looking for her next outfit. Dolores was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and she will be loved and missed by many.
Dolores is survived by her two sons, Richard V. Miller of Coopersville, MI and Eric J. Miller of Cedar, three grandchildren, James (Erika) Miller and Jesse Miller, granddaughter, Allison, great-grandson, Patrick, great-granddaughter, Kayla, several nieces and nephews in Traverse City and Detroit as well as many other loving family members and friends.
Dolores was preceded in death by both parents; son, David J. Miller; sister, Janet Barron; brother, John Peters; and daughter-in-law Jami Miller.
Visitation for friends and family will be held from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11A.M. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Rev. James Hayden officiating.
Grave-side committal services will be held in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
