GRAWN — Don R. Kirkpatrick, 78, of Grawn, passed away April 28, 2012, at Munson Medical Center.Don was born on Nov. 28, 1933, in Blair, Wis., to the late Richard and Mildred (Sjuggerud) Kirkpatrick.Don proudly served our country as a member of the United States Navy.On Valentine's Day in 1980, Don married the former Dorothy L. Gibson. Together they have shared 32 wonderful years of marriage.Prior to moving to the Grand Traverse area, Don lived in Chicago, where he was the sales manager for a Family Footwear store. During his retirement he worked for Wal-Mart for 15 years.Don is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his son, Don R. (Jean) Jr.; his daughter, Cynthia (Brian) Kilburg and kids, Cheryl Hooks, Ricky Hooks, Don (Mary) Ann Hardman and Ron (Julie) Hardman; half brothers, Dean (Ronda) Regez and Roger (Darlene) Regez; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
