TRAVERSE CITY — Donald Lee "Doc" Dockery, 73, lifelong resident of Traverse City, went home to be with his heavenly father Sept. 21, 2011, one day shy of his 74th birthday, at Cherry Hill Haven. Donald was born Sept. 22, 1937, in Traverse City, to Anthony and Marguerite (Oberlin) Dockery. On June 25, 1972, Don entered into marriage with Mary Jane Dorn in Beatrice, Neb.; she survives. "Doc", as many would know him, was a longtime employee and member of the Golden Shoes family. He worked at the downtown location and spent many years out in Leland at the Leland Beach Company, earning himself the unofficial title of "Mayor" of fishtown. Doc was an avid hunter and fishermen and enjoyed every opportunity fishing the bays and inland lakes.Don is survived by his loving wife, Mary Dockery, of Traverse City; his son, David (Alison) Dockery, of Montclair, N.J.; a brother, Daniel (Lois) Dockery, of Traverse City; mother-in-law, Adaline Dorn, of Beatrice, Neb.; sister-in-law, Rachel Krause, of Beatrice, Neb.; niece, Brenda (Mike) Arden, of Lafayette, Ind.; and many other loving family members and friends.Donald was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Robert M.
