Donald L. Duchene, Sr., 87, of Traverse City, died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.

Don was born on Monday, July 23, 1928 to the late Frank and M. Laura (Lesperance) Duchene in Detroit. He served our country as a member of the U. S. Air Force. He married the late Doris Nicolay on November 8, 1952.

An avid Detroit Tigers fan, Don was in business for many years and was a generous benefactor to many worthy organizations, Catholic parishes and schools.

Don is survived by his daughter Barbara, son Donald, grandson Justin (JP), beloved companion Pauli Meli, as well as a host of very good friends, especially the employees of Bob Evans Restaurant and the Turtle Creek Casino.

At his specific request, no services will be held. He will be buried at White Chapel Memorial Park in Troy next to his wife Doris.
