Donald Eugene Hendges

Donald “Don” Eugene Hendges, 72, passed away October 30, 2026.

Don was born in Traverse City on October 3, 1954, the son of Delton Sr. and Maxine (Gordon) Hendges. He married the love of his life, Karen Wares on September 10, 1977. They had two sons, Matt and Terry.

Don was a kind man; he would do anything for anyone. He loved woodworking, camping, hunting and fishing, and his family and friends.

Don was proceeded in death by his parents Delton Sr. and Maxine Hendges, his son, Matt and his father-in-law, Don Wares, brother-in-law, Joe Schuster, and nephew, Todd Schuster.

He has survived by his wife, Karen, his son, Terry (Kylie) Hendges, grandchildren, sisters, Bev and Shirley and brother Delton Jr., his mother-in-law Eileen Wares and his best fur friend, his dog Roady.

A Memorial service in his honor, will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at 3 PM with a visitation starting at 2 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
