Traverse City - Donald R. Leppek, 81 of Traverse City passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

Donald was born in Carrolton on September 8, 1931 to the late Alex and Mary Leppek. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw in 1950 and served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Following his time in the service, he worked for Consumers Energy Company for 42 years.

On April 28, 1956 Donald married Jacqueline Boyd.

Donald is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jacqueline, five children, Timothy Leppek of Traverse City, Joseph (Joan) Leppek of Traverse City, Daniel (Nancy) Leppek of Midland, Linda Leppek of Traverse City, and Kathleen (Brad) Kunz of Madison, Wis, grandchildren Eric Largent of Perry, Lisa (Brian) Rothhaar of Denver, Colo, Michelle Leppek of Midland, Sean Leppek of Midland, and Eva Leppek of Traverse City, and sister Ramona Horonzy of Arnold.

Donald was preceded in death by his sister Alice and brothers Virgil and Robert.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 3 pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2 pm.

Memorial contributions in memory of Donald may be directed to Munson Hospice.
