Donald Frederick Nottke (Num), 88, of Traverse City passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Munson Medical Center. Don was born on November 2, 1927 in Traverse City to the late Frederick and Mamie (Wheelock) Nottke. He was married to JoAnn Moravec on June 18, 1949 she preceded him in death on May 15, 1971. Don was a truck driver all his life, he started by helping his dad deliver milk. He also drove for Frigid Foods of Suttons Bay, Chef Pierre and Nottke Trucking. He was a member the Eagles, the Moose Lodge in Sarasota, Florida and an associate member of the Elks Lodge. He loved to spend his winters in Arcadia, Florida leaving in November and returning in May. Don could often be found on his tractor cutting grass, splitting wood, or on his porch. He would do anything to help someone. Above all, spending time enjoying a beer and friends, was one of Don's greatest joys.

Don is survived by his three loving daughters; Barbara (Glen) Russell, Patti (Bob) Baker and Connie Nottke (Verne Pomraning); four grandchildren; Tracy (Matt) Godbold, Jennifer Russell, Brian Russell and Mandy (Mike) Depuy as well as eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a special friend; Rosie Steffens, a former wife; Karen (Bohr) Nottke and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome to visit with Don's family on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, Michigan 49684.

A Funeral Service honoring Don will be held at 11:00 a.m., with visiting one hour prior, on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
