Donald Eugene Peterson, 88, of Traverse City, passed away on December 19, 2018 at home in the loving care of his family.
Don was born in Grand Rapids on February 25, 1930 to George and Ruth (Eshanaur) Peterson. Following graduation from high school Don enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served 6 years during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged and then went to work for Georgia Pacific as a sales manager in the Grand Rapids and Livonia area. He retired after 30 years with the company. On November 10, 1950 Don married the love of his life, Hattie Snoeyink in Spokane, WA. He was an avid golfer and loved to spend time on the boat fishing with Hattie and his family. He was an honorable and loving family man with a great sense of humor.
Don is survived by his wife Hattie of 68 years; children Christine (Charles) Breen, Dianne Grix, grandchildren; Shannon (Jeff) Peters, Stacy (Adrian) Ellenwood, David Grix and Daniel Grix; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Don was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Bob, George and Charlene.
