Traverse City - Donald L. Salisbury, 87, of Traverse City passed away March 10, 2017 at Munson Medical Center with his daughters by his side.
Don was born on November 3, 1929 in Kasson Township to the late Bert and Mary (Keaton) Salisbury.
Don married Phyllis A. Mann on December 19, 1949. Together they shared 46 years of marriage before she passed away in 1996.
Don retired from the City of Traverse City. He was a maintenance operator for the waste water treatment plant. Don was a member of the Traverse City Eagles Lodge #383. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending to his vegetable garden. He was an avid black jack player and liked to visit Turtle Creek Casino.
Don is survived by his daughters Kathy Ann (Randy) Blunck, Pamela S. (David Dilley) Salisbury, and Gail L. Salisbury all of Traverse City; grandchildren Matt Blunck, Shawn (Lottie) Bottomley and Donald Bottomley; and great grandchildren Ashlee, Kyrsten, Trystin, Tucker, Tyler, AbbieGail and Lizzy.
Don was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, his parents, and his brothers and sisters.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 4 to 7pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
The memorial service celebrating Don's life will be held on Wednesday, March 15 at 11:00 am with visitation begining one hour prior at the funeral home. Graveside services will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Phyllis.
