TRAVERSE CITY — Donald Ray Steltzner, 89, of Traverse City, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Donald was born on Sunday, March 22, 1925, to the late William and Mary (Hollister) Steltzner in Detroit.
Don was a member of the Spencer Church of Christ and enjoyed wood crafting.
Prior to his retirement, Don had worked in maintenance and carpentry for Kalkaska Public Schools.
He is survived by his children, Gail (John) Parnitzke, of Wisconsin; Barry D. (Linda), of Traverse City; Ramona Bailey, of South Lyon; and Cheryl (Al) Bouma, of Grand Rapids; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Frieda (Krepps); his second wife, Gladys (Russell); a son, Dale and wife, JoAnn Steltzner; a son-in-law, Ronald Bailey; a granddaughter, Shannon Bailey; and a great-granddaughter, Stephanie Stacturski.
Services will be held in the spring.
