Donna Lou Cochrun, 83, of Traverse City and formerly of St. Johns, MI, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City.
Donna was born on July 2, 1930 to the late Howard and Edith Pendell in Gratiot County, MI. She attended and graduated from Carson City High School. On September 25, 1949, in Sethton, Gratiot County, MI, Donna married Robert C. Cochrun. They made their home and raised their family in St. Johns MI for 48 years prior to moving to Traverse City in June of 2003. Donna retired in 1991 while working for Clinton County.
The greatest highlight in Donna's life was her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, telling stories about her siblings, children and grandchildren. She always found something good in everyone and enjoyed life by helping those in need.
Donna is survived by her husband, Robert of Traverse City; 3 sons, Robert (Barbie) Cochrun of Lansing, Richard Cochrun of Traverse City, Steve (Julie) Cochrun of Birmingham, AL; a daughter Debra Potisek of Cary, NC; 8 grandchildren, Nicholas (Melissa) Potisek, Sara (Miguel) Valencia, Christopher (Courtney) Potisek and Emily Potisek; Josh, Alisha and Evan Cochrun and Steven L. Cochrun, Jr., 3 great grandchildren Finnegan, Piper and Samuel; her sisters, Mozelle Peters of Carson City and Shirley Gingrich of Niceville, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 siblings.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 21st, 11:00am at New Haven Church of the Brethren, 7587 Grant Road, Middleton, MI.
