Donna J. Egeler

Born May 23rd, 1927 and passed to God's loving arms July 26, 2014.
Donna is survived by companion Dee Brott, daughter Penny Schropp and son-in-law Dan, sister Ila Mae Purdy, nieces, Eva Sue Turner (Steve), Gail Neiswanger (Don), Jaime Osborne (Fred), nephew Ed Flees, grandchildren Samantha and Brandon Schropp, numerous great nephews and nieces, and her loving dog Toto.
She was preceded in death by her mother Agnes Woodrow, father Milton Woodrow, Sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Jim Dorman, brother-in-law Burt Purdy and nephew Bud Dorman, as well as by many beloved friends.
Donna worked many years as an Activity Therapist at the Traverse City State Hospital and later retired from the Kalamazoo State Hospital.
Donna had a real zest for life and was a loving, kind and loyal person to all those she loved. She had a wonderful empathy for others and a good sense of humor. Her absence has left a hole in our hearts and she will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home at 305 Sixth St. in Traverse City on Wednesday, July 30th at 3pm. A luncheon will follow at the VFW at 3400 Veterans Drive at 4pm.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Cherryland Humane Society.
