TRAVERSE CITY — Donna Marie Ockert, 70, of Interlochen, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, as the result of an auto accident.Donna was born on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 1940, to the late David and Blanche (Dunham) Egan in Thompsonville. She entered into marriage with Frederick James Ockert on Saturday, Nov. 22, 1958, at St. Mary's of Hannah Catholic Church.Prior to her retirement, Donna was a loan specialist for the United States Government Rural Development Office. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, crocheting, reading and spending time at the casino. She loved to plant rose bushes around her home. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and her family.Donna is survived by her husband, Frederick; her children, Tammy (David) May, of Frankfort, Mark Ockert, Sherri (Michael) Poulisse and Matthew (Wendy) Ockert, all of Interlochen; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her sisters, Anna Waterson, of Elk Rapids, and Marilyn Egan, of Traverse City; as well as her brother, Patrick (Rachelle) Egan, of Florida. She was preceded in death by her sons, Frederick J. Ockert II, who died in infancy, and Frederick J. Ockert III; her father and mother; and three sisters, Nancy Pulaski, Alice Dixon and Delores Sager. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, with visitation at the church one hour prior to the Mass. The Rev. Fr. Donald Geyman will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary's of Hannah Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
