Dorothy Rosemary Cinader, 91, passed away on August 26, 2023, at Orchard Creek Assisted Living in Traverse City.
She was born on August 8, 1932, in Alpena, Michigan, to the late Edward V. and Florence (Kraft) Zelaskowski. On March 19, 1951, in Clawson, Michigan, she married the late Richard Roy Cinader, and together they lovingly raised three daughters.
Dorothy brought her warm heart and kind spirit to the Traverse City area in 1979, having moved from Royal Oak. During her time in Royal Oak, she was an active member of Saint Dennis Catholic Church. Dorothy was employed at Parish Publications as a proofreader for church bulletins. While in Traverse City, she made a difference in the community by working at Bortz nursing home and at the Record Eagle. Her dedication to helping others extended to her spare time, as she volunteered at the Hope Chest and Double Edge resale shops.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Dan) Balchunas. Grandchildren, Stacey (Tim) Pulliam, Tyler Fatseas (Kayla Sklener), Nick Adams, Jessica (Charley) Ryder. 9 great grandchildren, as well as numerous other loving family members and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Richard, her daughters, Kris Adams and Carey Fatseas and her sibling George (Annie) Zelaskowski.
Private family services will be held at a later time to celebrate Dorothy's life and the indelible mark she left on those who had the privilege of knowing her. In her memory, her family encourages contributions to be directed to causes close to her heart, TC Paws or Women's Resource Center.
