FRANKFORT — Dorothy E. Dant, 80, a homemaker of Frankfort, became an angel in heaven on Wednesday morning, Jan. 19, 2011, at The Maples in Frankfort.Born Oct. 31, 1930, in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Lee and Fern (McLalin) Williams. On Aug. 20, 1953, in Detroit, she married Harold E. Dant, who preceded her in death.Even though Dorothy's struggles in life were many, she always had the ability to maintain a great sense of humor along with her spirited personality.Dorothy is survived by her loving and supportive children, Walter Dant, of Copemish, Sandra (Dennis) Knapp, of Copemish, Charles (Mary Skowronski) Dant, of Grawn, Jerry (Debbie) Ellis, of Maple City, Robert (Lisa) Dant, of Traverse City, and Edward Stoner, of Virginia; 10 grandchildren; sister, Gladys Wright, of Westland; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends from The Maples.In addition to her husband, Dorothy was also preceded in death by siblings, Hugh McLeod,Thelma Glidden and Leonard Williams. Dorothy will be remembered during a funeral service which will be held at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at 1 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place this spring at Countryside Memorial Cemetery near Interlochen.
