Dorothy Lane Fradd, nearly 93, of Empire passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023 at French Manor South.
Dorothy, affectionately known as Dot, was born on 10-20-30, October 20, 1930 in Traverse City to the late Henry and Alice (Grattopp) Sanford.
On November 27, 1948 she married Robert Francis Fradd in Leland. The two shared 55 years together before he passed in 2003.
Dot was very active and loved the Empire community. She was a member of the Empire Women's Club, Birthday Club, Heritage Museum, Quilting Club and TOPS. She also served as the Election Chair Person, worked on the Border Review and was the devoted caretaker for Empire Maple Grove Cemetery for many years. In her younger years she was also the bookkeeper for the family construction business "Fradd Brothers". In her free time she enjoyed sewing, tending to her garden, crafting and cake decorating.
Dot is survived by her daughters Frances Hudson and Donna (Tom) Cobb; grandson Jonathan Sanford and sister Janet Jamison; along with many nieces and nephews.
Dot will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Empire at a later date.
Memorial contributions in her honor may be directed to the Empire Heritage Museum.
