Dorothy Marie Gordon, 83 of Interlochen, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Munson Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born on August 10, 1929 in Traverse City to the late Wilbur and Annie (Chandler) Sieffert. She married the love of her life, Charles A. Gordon Sr. on July 5, 1945 in Nolla, MO. Together they had five children and were inseparable for over 62 years.
Dorothy was a devoted worker. She worked at Burwood's for over 30 years and at the Grand Traverse Motel for several years. She enjoyed crocheting, tending to her flowers, and working in her yard. She was a wonderful baker and loved playing cards. Spending time with her family especially during the holidays were some of her favorite memories. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and she will be dearly missed.
Surviving Dorothy are her children, Charles Jr. (Pamela) Gordon, Ronald (Janice) Gordon, William Gordon, and Kathy Gordon, grandchildren, Jennifer, Julie, Jeffrey, Jason, Carrie, Jon, Jeremy, Joshua and Erinn, 16 great grandchildren, a brother Wilbur Jr. (Shirley) Sieffert, and many other loving family members and friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Patricia Ann Gordon, sisters Betty Wallace and Helen Graves.
Visitation will be held for Dorothy on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 5-8pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Friday, August 17 also at the Funeral Home. Pastor Rick Rice will officiate. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
