Dorothy Lee Hubbell (95) of Traverse City, Michigan was peacefully called back to her Creator on March 18th, 2025 through natural causes. She was a longterm resident of The Villas of Traverse Point.
She was born the youngest of seven to John and Charlotte (Lottie)Tobin on May 2nd, 1929 in Traverse City, Michigan. Her parents were residents of South Manitou Island where her father was the light house
keeper and a member of Shore Patrol, while her mother ran the general store, post office and telephone switch board. Dorothy would serve customers at the ice cream and soda fountain inside the general store
after school and choirs. She would affectionately reminisce of her siblings: Betty, Charlotte May, Edna, Edward, George and Harold.
Dorothy was a mother to Harry F Razo, Charlotte A Lewis, Mona L Adams and Daniel L Razo.
She was a grandmother to Cheryl, Sherry, Amanda, TJ, Matt, Chad, Robert, Kamryn and Valen.
She was a great-grandma 9 times over.
Besides being a voracious reader of biographies, histories and romances, she also loved to
explore churches and temples of many different faiths and denominations. Science also
sparked her interest, especially psychology and neuroscience. She and her late husband,
Wayne Hubbell, adored nature and could sit and enjoy the activity of birds and squirrels for
hours.
Per Dorothy's wishes a short graveside service will be held with immediate family in lieu of a
traditional funeral.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to The Villas Of Traverse Point for their years of
dedication and kindness to each and every single staff member, doctor, nurse, CNA, nutrition
team members, sanitation and laundry service worker.
Over the years, they have become friends to Dorothy and her family, especially during the pandemic when they were her only source of connection. May God bless you all. Thank you.
