Obituary

Dorothy Marie Lundberg Lardie, 90, of Traverse City passed away at home on Wednesday October 10, 2018 surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was born on November 30, 1927 to Andrew Lundberg and Ida (Lake) Lundberg in Traverse City. She graduated from Traverse City Central High School in 1946 and married Roland Lardie in 1947.

Dorothy was a founding and life time member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Traverse City. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was a hospice volunteer. She retired after 30 plus years from the Traverse City State Hospital as a Pharmacy Tech.

She enjoyed working outside in her large yard, tending birds, plants and raking leaves. Her family was her pride and joy.

She was proud of her Finnish ancestry and enjoyed meeting her extended family in Finland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Andrew Lundberg and granddaughter Anissa.

Dorothy is survived by her children Lynda Walker, Larry Lardie, Lorin (Cathy) Lardie and Lucinda (John) McGoon; grandchildren Ronald, Roland, Johnnie, Amy and Heather as well as many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; her sister-in-law Joyce Lundberg and her aunt Virginia Baynton, nieces, nephews, cousins and her cat Cricket.

The memorial service will be held at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 912 S. Garfield in Traverse City, officiated by Pastor Jim Nihiser on Tuesday October 16, 2018 at 11:00 am and visitation beginning one hour prior.

Memorial donations may be directed to St. Michael's Lutheran Church or to the Cherryland Humane Society.
