TRAVERSE CITY — Drew Foster Hemingway, 25, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011. Drew was born in Traverse City on Monday, April 8, 1985, to George "Jeff" and Norma Jean (Bullard) Hemingway. Drew completed his high school education and was currently attending NMC.Drew really loved sports and was a natural athlete. He particularly enjoyed snowboarding, playing hockey, basketball and working out at Fit for You. He loved life, yet his greatest love was his daughter, Mikayla and his nieces, McKenna and Madilynn.Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Mikayla Lautner; his dad, George "Jeff" Hemingway, of Traverse City; his sister, Heather Rubin, of East Jordan; his nieces, McKenna and Madilynn Steltzner; his grandmother, Marion Haney, of Ft. Myers, Fla.; his uncles and aunts, Donald and John Bullard, Sheri Savchetz, Thomas Hemingway, Elaine Truitt and Juanita Dorsey; the mother of his daughter, Brittany Lautner; along with many cousins and many friends. Drew was preceded in death by his mom.Visitation for Drew will take place from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
