Duane Jorgensen, 81, of Elk Rapids, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Munson Medical Center. Duane was born on May 6, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Barbara (Fox) and Myron Jorgensen. He married the love of his life, Maryanne Nackerman on September 21, 1973 in Charlevoix.
Duane and Maryanne owned and operated Jorgensen Builders. He built countless homes over the years, never really retiring. Working with wood, he also built boats, furniture and many walking sticks. People always said, "given the time, Duane could build anything."

He flew over 100 Young Eagles, a program where he took kids to experience their first flights. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and collecting guns. Spending time with his family and walking along the beach with his dog Jake looking for Petoskey stones was a great joy to him.
Duane is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Maryanne, three sons and a daughter; Danny (Paula) Jorgensen, Jimmy Jorgensen, Kenda (Brian) Standfest and Jordan (Geri) Lewis, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
