Dwight Albert Demitz

Dwight Albert Demitz passed away at his home surrounded by family on May 26, 2023 at the age of 90, in Traverse City, Michigan. Dwight was born in Lansing, Michigan on December 1, 1932, and was a former owner of Linn & Owen Jewelers.

Dwight's infectious laughter and humor lifted the spirits of those around him. He was an avid enthusiast of golf, fishing, and hunting.

Dwight is survived by his wife Eleanor of 51 years and by his six children, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Sally, Steven, Matthew, and Patrick, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Dwight's life with be held at 11:00am on June 1, 2023 at St. Sebastian Orthodox Church located in Traverse City, MI 49696. A private liturgy will precede the funeral service at 9:00am.

Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 followed by a panikhída at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City, MI 49684.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Sebastian Orthodox Church in memory of Dwight Demitz. The memories we shared with Dwight will forever remain in our hearts. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
