Earl "Fred" Frederick Chase Ii's Obituary
Earl "Fred" Frederick Chase II, 79 of Traverse City passed away January 25, 2013 at Munson Medical Center.
Fred was born on May 20, 1933 to the late Earl Frederick and Mary Lou (Nampa) Chase.
Fred honorably served our country in the Korean War.
On June 23, 1961 Fred married Ruth E. Blue in Redford. His childhood years were spent between Detroit and Calumet. He also attended Leelanau Boys School and the Detroit Institute of Technology. He was a retired machine tool design checker.
In his spare time Fred enjoyed boating, woodworking and watching the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Tigers.
Fred is survived by his wife Ruth of Traverse City, daughters Roxana (Roxie) (Bill) Becker of Crystal Falls and Charlotte (Wayne) Houghton of Traverse City, grandchildren include Joe Holman II, Misty Nadeau, Eric (Jessie) Houghton, Sarah (Chris McNally) Houghton, Alex Houghton, Brittany (Brian) Maurer, and Danielle Houghton, and great grandchildren Cammie Molis, Abigail and Lucy Houghton, and 2 little ones coming soon. He is also survived by his dear childhood friend Lee David of Fort Meade FL.
Per Fred's wishes the family will remember him privately. A life celebration service will take place in the spring.
