Edith Schoeppach Clark, 101, of Lake Ann, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 20, 2013. Born July 14, 1911, in Cass County, N. D., Edith was the fourth of twelve children born to John and Frances (Hart) Schoeppach. At age five, she moved with her family to Flint where she graduated from Flint Central High School. Edith married David (Tom) Clark on December 30, 1933 in Flint. Tom and Edith moved to Lake Ann in 1944 where they founded Clark Lumber Company.
Edith was born again at 12 years of age and was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ,. She was a charter member of the Grawn Bible Methodist Church.
Edith is survived by her daughter Joanne Clark and daughter in law Shirley (Rayle) (Steve) Johnson, grandson Ronald (Clark) (Jil Johnson) Flaska, and great grandson Gus Flaska, as well as the Johnson children Stephen, Mary, Nathan and David and their children who always regarded her as "Grandma." She is also survived by her sister Florence (Frank) Baker, brothers, Wayne (Ruth) Louis (Jean) and Lloyd (Carmen) Schoeppach and sister in law Marjorie Schoeppach as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tom in 2003, son Daniel in 1974, and infant daughter Elizabeth in 1957; her brothers, Ronald, Melvin, Max and Orval and sisters Fern Chisholm, Ruth Klinger and Ellen Diehl.
Visitation for Edith will take place on Thursday, Jan 24 from 6 until 8 p.m. at The Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 - with visitation one hour prior - at Grawn Bible Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Inland Township Cemetery in the spring.
