Williamsburg – Bud Bowen, 89, passed away peacefully at Medilodge on February 1, 2025.
Bud was born on November 29, 1935 in Durand to the late Edmund James Bowen Sr. and Mildred Coryell Bowen.
Bud was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea from 1958-1960 and again in 1963-1965. He was a master mechanic and could fix anything, including tanks and he belonged to a group known as the Dirty 30.
He excelled as a mechanic and serviced Ford vehicles for over 20 years. He also liked to build and fix things and in his younger years, built his home, a barn and restored several boats and cars.
One of his favorite things to do would definitely be fishing. He owned and operated the Fish Stix charter boat and he loved to catch anything and everything. He also enjoyed hunting.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in- law Jack Eldridge.
Bud is survived by his son, Edmund Bowen III "EJ"; his sister Shirley Eldridge and his step daughter Meegan Reid.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
Memorials in his honor may be directed to the VA or Tunnels to Towers.
