Edmund Paul Schopieray

Edmund Paul Schopieray, 93 of Traverse City passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Culver Meadows with his family at his side.

Edmund was born on August 17, 1929 in Maple City, MI to the late William and Hattie (Levenske) Schopieray. He married the late Rita Helen Lautner on May 14, 1949 in Traverse City. Together they lovingly raised five wonderful children.

Edmund is survived by his children, LeRoy (Debbie) Schopieray, Russell (Joan) Schopieray, Linda (Max) Thompson, William (Angela) Schopieray, Gerald (Sheila) Schopieray, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. Siblings Pete Schopieray, Barb Richards, Don Schopieray, Lawrence Endres, and Leonard Endres.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home from 5-7pm with a Rosary prayed at 5pm. Mass will be held at 11am on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with a visitation beginning at 10am. Burial will take place next to his wife Rita at the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Munson Hospice House of Traverse City or masses at Immaculate Conception Church in honor of Edmund Schopieray.
