TRAVERSE CITY — Edna B. Fisher, 91, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Munson Hospice House, with her loving family by her side.Edna was born Sept. 4, 1918, in Northport, to the late William and Amelia (Bourdo) Bartlett. She married Robert G. Fisher March 4, 1937, in Traverse City.Edna was a lifelong resident of Traverse City. She and her husband started the Eastfield Shopping Center, which included Fishers Food Market and Beverage Store, Ben Franklin, and multiple outer buildings which help make up the shopping center.In her younger years, Edna loved to rollerskate. Later she enjoyed traveling the United States and Canada with her husband.She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Robert G. Fisher; son, William E. Fisher, of Traverse City; granddaughter, Tracy Lee Mims and one great-grandson, Marshall W. Collins, both of Henderson, Texas. She is also survived by Rick and Nancy Deering of Northport, Thomas Deering of Northport and Ricky, Cinda, and Kendra, also of Northport.Funeral services for Edna will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, with visitation one hour prior at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Pastor Justin Grimm will serve as officiant.
