Edward Griffin, 59, of Traverse City passed away April 20, 2019 at Munson Medical Center.

Ed was born on September 26, 1959 in Milford, Connecticut where he was raised. He moved to Traverse City in 1993 to join his then fiancé Cathy Konieczka. They were married New Years Day 1994 and enjoyed 25 years together before his passing.

One of his greatest passions was participating in and following the Drum and Bugle Corps. Anything Ed did he did it with passion as shown in his bowling a perfect score of 300. Ed made his career working in the tool and die industry. He took a 'brief' 10 year break to try his hand at the rental industry. He co-owned Blue Sky Boat and Snowmobile Rentals in the Traverse City area. For the past 7 years he had been working as a sales engineer for Alro Steel.

Ed is survived by his wife Cathy; mother Sandra Griffin; siblings Dan, Mallory (Keith) Parent, Lisa (Ed) Sweeney, Bill (Jean), Patti and Michael (Michelle Buchino); brother and sister-in-laws Greg (Paula) Konieczka, Beth (Bob) Hausler, Brad (Jackie) Konieczka and Joe (Christi) Konieczka and many extended family members and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Norman and his father and mother in law John and Kay Konieczka and brothers in law John and Brian Konieczka.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family is being cared for by Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
