Traverse City - Edward Steinle, 82, of Traverse City, went to his
heavenly Father's arms on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Munson Hospice
House in Traverse City.
Ed was born to Gottfried and Anna (Schultz) Steinle in Milwaukee, WI.
He attended and graduated from Custer High School and furthered his
education so that he could pursue a career in business. He also took
classes for effective public speaking and communications and mentored
many who took these classes as well.
In 1952 he married the love of his life, Mavis Klein and together they
raised five wonderful children.
Ed was District Sales Manager for the Gillette Company prior to his
retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse
City. Ed was the type of person that would do anything to help someone.
In their retirement years, he and Mavis would travel the country in
their motor home, stopping in cities to find a church to worship at on
Sunday and they would ask the Pastor what they could do to help out in the
community while they were there. Ed worked with Habitat for Humanity,
and helped that organization not only here, but in Romania and Hungary.
Ed led by example, and used his talents for the well being of his
fellow man. In his leisure time, Ed enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is remembered with love and joy by the manylives he touched.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mavis; children, Thomas (Teri)
of WI, Kathleen Gift of AZ, Mark (Judy) of WI, Susan (Steve) Jones of IN
and Laura (Greg) Stasiak of MI; 13 grandchildren, Kristen, Jenny, Chad,
