Edward "Bill" William Cannon Sr., 70 of Traverse City passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 10, 2014 at Munson Medical Center.
Bill was born on November 3, 1943 in Mt Clemens, to Clyde Leighton and Edith Marie (Davis) Cannon. He married Elizabeth Ann Blair on December 27, 1963 in Trenton, MI. They just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary along the way they lovingly raised three wonderful children.
Bill retired from Firestone Steel in Wyandotte, MI, and moved his family to Traverse City, MI in 1982, where he was successful in establishing A & B Exterminating Inc. and Cannon Mechanical Inc. with his sons, Billy and Tommy, Bill enjoyed many outdoor activities, hunting, fishing, many garage sales and car shows to state a few of his joys, his most special joys were always spent with family and friends; Bill was a very kind and good hearted man taken home to soon to our Father Lord Jesus Christ and will be sorely missed by all his loved ones and friends.
Bill has left a legacy of strength and honor; living every day to its fullest; he helped many of us smile through the storms no matter how tough or severe and to always know you will never walk alone.
Surviving Bill is his wife Elizabeth of 50 years, children, Kathleen (Marlin) Starkey of Wolverine, William Cannon Jr. of Traverse City, Thomas (Angela) Cannon of Chicago, IL, grandchildren, Jakob, Blake, Andrew, Patrick, great granddaughter, Alizabeth Marie, his mother Edith, a sister Donna (Dave) Broman, his beloved little dog Molly and many other family members and friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his father Clyde.
Please come celebrate his life with the family; visitation will be held for Bill on Thursday, March 13, from 4-8pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 10am on Friday, March 14, 2014 also at the Funeral Home. Pastor Doyle Berg, Jr. will officiate. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
