Ed was a starting player on the Flint Beecher championship football team that is in the Flint Sports Hall of Fame and is still recognized as one of the most legendary high school teams in the state of Michigan, having outscored the competition in their championship year by a total score of 300 – 6. Ed also loved riding motorcycles both on and off-road.
A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, Ed led a life worth living and will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, and many friends and other relatives. His life will be celebrated this summer with a mixing of ashes with his beloved Georgena.
The Barnes family would like to thank the staff at the Grand Traverse Pavilions for the incredible love and care they provided Ed during his final years.
