CEDAR — Edwin Vincent "Eddie" Petrowski, 89, of Centerville Township, Leelanau County, died early Friday morning, April 15, 2011, at his home, following a sudden illness.Born Oct. 5, 1921, on the family homestead in Centerville Township, he was the only child of Stephen and Mary (Pleva) Petrowski. On Oct. 20, 1979, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Cedar, he married his childhood friend and neighbor, the former Theresa Bodus Keur.Eddie worked for Easling Construction, served as an independent potato buyer and drove truck for Drewrys Beer.His heart truly remained in farming, especially raising his white-faced cattle. He enjoyed listening to a good Detroit Tigers game, playing bingo and frequently going to the casino to play the slots or to attend a polka dance.Eddie is survived by his wife of 31 years, Theresa Petrowski; daughter Delphine (Alex) Lakatos and their daughter, Stephanie, all of North Muskegon; along with a host of other relatives.Friends may call at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Cedar, today, April 17, from 4 to 8 p.m., where the Petrowski family will receive friends. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at the church Monday, April 18, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Donald Libby serving as the celebrant.Graveside services and burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In remembrance of Eddie, memorials contributions may be directed to Mass Intentions, or to Holy Rosary/St. Rita's Food Pantry.
