Eileen Catherine Hays, 73, of Glen Arbor, passed away July 23, 2016 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. Eileen was born on May 4, 1943 in Chicago, the daughter of Harold Francis and Mary Agnes (Behan) Tolan. She married Dennis P. Hays on July 3, 1965 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Chicago. Eileen had been a sixth grade teacher at St. Giles Catholic School in the Chicago area. After moving to this area, she enjoyed volunteering at the National Park and several other venues.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children, Maureen Agnes (Allan Strand) Hays of Charleston, SC, Matthew Dennis (Mary) Hays of Western Springs, IL, Brian Ignatius (Alison) Hays of Chicago, Alice Ann (Matthew Robenalt) Hays of Ft. Collins, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren Luka Robenalt, Owen and Ava Hays and Caitlin Hays. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Mary Frances Flowers.
