Obituary

TRAVERSE CITY — Eileen L. Schaub, 91, passed away peacefully at the Grand Traverse Pavilions on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, with her loving family by her side. Eileen was born in Hammond, Ind., on Dec. 3, 1920, to the late Monford and Amelia (Scholtas) Loomis. She was a member of the Senior Kitchen Band and the VFW Post 2780. She attended the Journey Wesleyan Church, formerly College Terrace Wesleyan Church. She was a wonderful homemaker and a great mother.Eileen was preceded in death by three husbands, Lenoard J. Green, Arthur B. Swanson and Ambrose Schaub.Surviving Eileen are three children, Sharon A. (Clay) Oxley, Rhonda L. (Gaylon) Harrison and Arthur B. (Sally) Swanson Jr.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, five sisters, Betty (Don) Culp, Robaline Udell, Nancy Helderop, Carolyn (Woody) Bolen and Gloria (J.B.) Mantooth; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Visitation will be held for Eileen on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Journey Wesleyan Church, 2825 W. South Airport Road, Traverse City. Burial will take place at the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral. The family would like to sincerely thank Hospice of Michigan and also the caregivers at The Birch Wing at the Grand Traverse Pavilions for their special support and care.
