Elaine Rose Brooks, age 93, passed away April 20, 2022 in Traverse City. She was born in Charlotte, Michigan on April 27, 1928 to the late Earl and Helen (Stockton) French. On September 14, 1953, in Lansing, Michigan, she married Robert M. Brooks, who precedes her in death.

Elaine worked in banking administration. She and her family lived on Long Lake for many years and she was an avid swimmer. Elaine also enjoyed cooking.

Elaine is survived by two children, Robert (Julie) of Northport, and Kathleen (Donald) Ehrenberger of Traverse City; grandchildren Devin, Griffin and Colton Brooks, and Jennifer and Joseph Ehrenberger; great-grandchildren Kirkland and Kaitlyn Shepard and Emma Ehrenberger; and great-great grandchild Owen Shepard.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Fern Hill, Wilda Arnold, Donna Fast, Shirley Walter and Margie Eckhart.
