Elaine Innes

Elaine Innes passed away peacefully on Sunday February 12, 2023 in Traverse City. Elaine was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 11, 1945 to the late Emory and Lucille Hurt. Elaine married William (Bill) Innes who proceeded her in death on January 9, 1992 in Traverse City. Elaine and Bill lived in the Detroit area before moving to Traverse City in 1980 where they opened a business, The Beverage Company. Together with their three daughters they successfully owned and managed the business for several years.
Elaine was survived by her three loving daughters, Kristen (Erick) Thorson, Julie (Ben) Stevenson and Mary (John) Foster and by her ten grandchildren; Anna (Ben) Miles, Jack, Nick, Catherine, Ava, Erick, Jude, Christian, Lucia and Sam. Also surviving are her two brothers Emory (Joyce) Hurt, John (Cathy) Hurt and her sister, Madeline (Fred) Haglethorn and many nieces and nephews. Elaine is also survived by her two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Olivia Miles.
Elaine loved spending time with her family and friends, she was a stay-at-home mother and took pride in raising her daughters. Elaine was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed going out to restaurants and trying new things. In her quiet time, Elaine was an avid reader and animal lover, enjoying many pets throughout her lifetime.
Elaine was a devoted Catholic who persevered and was strong in her faith, while her time on earth she was able to share her wisdom and pass her faith to her three daughters. A Funeral mass honoring Elaine will take place on Saturday, February 18th at 10:00 am, at Sacred Heart Church, 2342 Valley Road, Mancelona, Michigan.
