TRAVERSE CITY - Elaine (Miller) Misner - born June 2, 1926, passed peacefully February 17, 2021. Elaine is from Ann Arbor and made her home in Empire in 1968. She was a kind and gentle soul. She was preceded in death by her son John R. Brice III, her parents Etta and Jay Miller, and her brothers and sisters Virginia, Lavern, William, Winifred, and Mark.
She is survived by her loving husband Merl Misner of Empire, her son Gregory Brice of Honor, and daughter Deborah Schopieray of Traverse City, five grandchildren John Robert Brice IV, Kevin Brice, Cheryl Brice, Shannon (Schopieray) Rice and husband Chip, and Patrick Schopieray and wife Nichole, 4 great grandchildren Andrew and Isabelle Schopieray and Landon and Ana Rice. It's been our privilege to have had her.
The family wants to thank Hospice of Michigan, Leelanau Commission on Aging, and everyone who helped in her final journey. Special thank you to her loving husband Merl for his love and good care of her.
Per Elaine's request, private family arrangements have been made. Elaine will be laid to rest at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
