Elisabeth Brouwers, 95, died peacefully in her sleep on July 29, 2014. "Bep" was a kind and gentle soul and was beloved by her 6 surviving children, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Bep was born in The Hague, Netherlands on July 15, 1919. Her deep, abiding love for children led her to become an elementary school teacher in Rotterdam, and then later in the United States. Her husband Alex came to the U.S. first, where she and her children later traveled by ship to join him. She left her family and life in Holland for the hope of a better future for her children in America.
Bep's interests included gardening, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Today, the world is a lesser place, as Elisabeth Brouwers has left us to rejoin Alex, her husband. Again, he made the journey first, and had to wait patiently for his wife, but at last they are united in heaven. God bless you, Mom. You will be dearly missed.
Bep is survived by a sister, and her children Alex (Renee), Elly, Ron (Lynn), Marja, Jim (Jan), and Teri.
In lieu of a memorial service, the family would like to honor Bep by having you share your thoughts, stories, memories, personal notes on her memorial page at
