Elizabeth (Betty) Walker Deadman (Goble), a lifelong resident of Traverse City, died
peacefully on November 6th, 2014 at Grand Traverse Pavilions. She was born on November
5th, 1919 to the late William and Ethel Goble in Traverse City, Michigan. A graduate of
Traverse City High School and Central Michigan University, after college Betty taught school
in Kingsley, Michigan. Later, she worked at Fotchman Automotive and the Traverse City
Employees Credit Union. Betty was an involved, longtime member of Traverse City Central
United Methodist Church, where she was celebrated as Woman of the Year in 1991.
Betty was married to Stanley Deadman in 1950, he preceded her in death in 1982. Betty is
survived by her three children and their spouses; William Deadman, Charles Deadman and
his wife Margie, and Kay Jean Brown and her husband Josh; three grandchildren; Chris
Deadman and his wife, Billie, Vicki Deadman, and Courtney Deadman; and two
great-grandchildren; Sydney and Carson.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6th, at 2:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 222 Cass Street, Traverse City, MI 49684. Rev. Dale Ostema will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with Betty's family at the church starting at 1:00 p.m.
