Elizabeth Langlois

Elizabeth "Betty" Langlois, 75, of Interlochen passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on April 9, 2016.

Betty was born on May 25, 1940, in Alma to Gayle and Elizabeth (Kalmar) Hutchinson. Betty spent her younger years living in Mid-Michigan near Shepherd, graduating from St. Louis High School in 1958. She worked for Consumers Power for 44 years as an office manager and received an associate's degree in 1990 from Davenport College.

Betty and Tom were married in St. Louis, MI on November 25, 1967. They lived in Elwell, Michigan until retirement when they relocated to their summer home in Interlochen, Michigan in 2005.

Betty enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, knitting, crocheting, stained glass, various crafts, and flower gardening.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Tom; two daughters, Ann (Timothy) Gilchrist of Custer and Dawn (Brian) Gustafson of Rapid River; four grandchildren, Kendra and Julia Gilchrist and Luke and Allison Gustafson; and a sister Kathy (John) Richardson of Waters. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Gayle and Elizabeth (Kalmar) Hutchinson, and a brother Donald Hutchinson.

The family will receive friends and family at the Lux Funeral Home in Alma on Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 12:00 to 2:30 pm. Graveside services will follow at Chapel Gardens in Elwell, at 3:00 pm.
