Traverse City – Elizabeth Constance Stern, 82, of Traverse City passed away August 26, 2012 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Elizabeth was born on March 6, 1930 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania.
She was a graduate of the Detroit Conservatory of Music, where she studied voice and piano.
A loving mother of five, Elizabeth was also an astute business woman who owned and operated two businesses in Traverse City for over thirty years.
She was an avid reader, a lover of fashion, enjoyed music and theater, and spending time with her family. Near the end of her life, her great-grandson brought her enormous joy.
Elizabeth was a kind and gentle soul, with a sharp sense of humor, which she never lost.
She is survived by her children, Daniel W. Stern, Debra Ann Stern, Cynthia Stern, Pamela Stern-Green and her husband Richard Green, and Anne Marie Stern. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Erica (Watson) Cordell and her husband Bernie Cordell, Leslie Watson, Nathan Green and his wife Dora (Katsnelson) Green, and Elizabeth Stern-Green, and her great-grandson, Landon Cordell.
Elizabeth's family would like to express their gratitude to The Grand Traverse Pavilions for the professional and loving care they provided for Elizabeth. Many of the staff brought her much joy and comfort in her final years.
