Elizabeth Margaret Zahm

Elizabeth Margaret Zahm, 74, of Traverse City, passed away June 27, 2017 with her brother by her side in Melbourne Florida.
Elizabeth was born on September 18, 1942 in Detroit to the late Charles and Elizabeth (Oakley) Zahm.
She graduated from South Eastern high school in 1960.
In the 1970's she knew that Traverse City was to be her forever home and she moved here. She was employed by the Osteopathic Hospital until its closing, and then moved on to the Grand Traverse Resort. She was in the Administration sector in both places of employment until she retired in January of 2015 due to her ailing health. She was Employee of the Month on several occasions at both places of employment and if asked, anyone would tell you, that she was the most loyal and dedicated employee you would find.
Elizabeth was the best of the listeners and also was coined the silent observer. Shew was an avid reader of mystery novels. She enjoyed a good crossword puzzle, and going to the movies; the animated ones especially. Elizabeth was a wonderful activate for saving the animals. She rescued many kitties.
Her favorite weekly outing was for 'coffee at Oleson's on Wednesdays' with her church group. Even in her most trialing of moments, that was one excursion she never wanted to miss.
Elizabeth is survived and missed by her brother Charles (Collette) Zahm, nephews; Kurt Zahm of Los Angeles, CA and Charles Zahm of Coatsville, Penn. Also surviving are her great niece, Julia Zahm of Coatsville, Penn Cousin, William Miles of Portland, OR and friends; Pastor Betty Aldridge, Pat Bannon, Libby Thayer, Michael (Carol) Srdjak, Scott Firman and the Pine Grove Church family. She is also missed dearly by her two little kitties; Jenny and Sadie.
She is preceded in death by both her parents and three kitties; Timothy, Janie and Molly.

Per Elizabeth's wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
