Elsie Hannah Lardie, 91, of Traverse City went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Boardman Lake Glens surrounded by her loving family.
Elsie was born on January 30, 1924 to the late Theodore and Olga (Johnson) Kelsch in Northport, MI. She graduated from Traverse City Senior High School in 1942. After her schooling she went to work for Montgomery Ward and met the love of her life Edward A. Lardie. She married him on October 24, 1947 in Traverse City. Together they lovingly raised six wonderful children.
Traveling around the United States with Ed, visiting family and friends and seeing the countryside brought great joy to Elsie. In her spare time she enjoyed puzzles, knitting and working in her gardens. Family was the most important thing to Elsie and she took her role as a homemaker to the highest level. Her faith and her church were extremely important as well and she was always available to anyone who needed prayers. She was a kind and gentle woman, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Surviving Elsie is her devoted husband Ed of 68 wonderful years; children, Brenda Nugent, Nancy Lardie, Debra Burden, Janice Johnson, James Lardie and Jean Lardie; grandchildren, Holly (Brenen) Fuller, Justin (Andrea) Arndt, Matthew (Jenika) Burden, Jacob (Jill) Burden, Jason Galang, Jennifer Kambar, A.J. (Brianna) Lardie; 21 great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.
Elsie is preceded in death by her parents and brother Theodore (Ted) Kelsch.
