Emilie H. Anderson, 79, of Traverse City and formerly of Hinsdale ,IL, moved on from this life on Saturday, June 09, 2012 at her home in Traverse City.
Emilie was born on Tuesday, June 28, 1932 to the Alfred and Nettie (Kelton) Hoffman in Beverly, IL.
An educator in the public schools of Darien , IL for 38 years, Emilie moved to the Traverse City area fifteen years ago. Here she became a dedicated and active member of First Church of Christ Scientist, was a volunteer docent at the Dennos Museum and served as a Guardian Ad Litem for children. Emilie enjoyed traveling the world and was very dedicated to her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons and their families, Brian Anderson and his children Hannah and Aidan, of Sarasota, FL; Blair and Deborah Anderson and their daughter Emily of Traverse City and a brother, Alfred Hoffman, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Palm Beach, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Emilie's life will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 12 at Blair's home, 5680 Bay Meadows Drive, Traverse City.
The family suggests that Emilie be remembered through memorial contributions to First Church of Christ - Scientist, 330 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684.
