TRAVERSE CITY – Emmajane Reardon, 99, of Traverse City, formerly of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Grand Traverse Pavilions. She was born on August 22, 1917 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Frank and Emma (Story) Sawyer. She was married to Donald G. Reardon on May 14, 1938 and he predeceased her on December 23, 1982. Emmajane was employed by Jacobson's Department Store in Jackson for over 25 years and retired in 1982. She was a member of Sandstone Congregational of Jackson. Emmajane loved being at home with her family and especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their adventures.
Emmajane is survived by her loving daughter; Darlene (Don) Hollis and granddaughter; Kimberly (Blaine) Litteral. Also surviving are two great-granddaughters; Devon Litteral and Makenna Litteral as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Craig Hollis, three sisters and three brothers; Mildred Fry, Bernice Sterrett, Charlotte Sawyer, Francis "Jim" Sawyer, Wesley Sawyer, and Russell Sawyer.
A graveside committal service honoring Emmajane will take place at Chapel Cemetery in Parma, Michigan in May of 2017.
