TRAVERSE CITY —
Erin Laffin, 22, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, June 20, 2011, as a result of a car accident.
Erin was born on Aug. 25, 1988, to John and Barbara (Bostwick) Laffin, in Traverse City. Erin grew up in the area, attending Traverse City West High School and becoming a member of the 2007 graduating class. During her school days she participated in many sports, including basketball, track and even wrestling.
Erin's passion for music grew through school as both an active member of the choir and as a violinist in the orchestra. Erin also displayed her musical talent playing guitar. She was able to express her appreciation for the art by attending many concerts and loved going to Blissfest.
Erin enjoyed frolfing year-round and could often be found taking in nature. She loved spending time in the woods, taking leisurely rides in a canoe down the river, camping, fishing or helping her dad in the garden.
She was a member of and supported the Green Peace Organization.
Erin loved caring for her horses, and most of all she loved her family and friends. She will be remembered for her love of life, her kindness, her sense of humor and her contagious laughter.
Erin worked at Fieldstone Market & Deli and was very close with her co-workers as well.
Erin is survived by her loving parents, John and Barbara Laffin, of Traverse City; her twin sister, Jessica Laffin; her sister, Kate (fiancé, Christopher Cosentino) Laffin; grandfather, John "Jack" Laffin; her niece, Micah Nelson; caring aunts, uncles and cousins; and many other loving family members and friends.
Erin was preceded in death by her brother, Shawn Micah Laffin, who also passed due to an automobile accident in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her grandmother, Joyce Howe Laffin; her grandparents, Ann and Gorden Bostwick; her uncles, Alan L. Bostwick and Timothy W. Laffin; and her close friends, Daniel, Trevor and Joe, all of Traverse City.
Funeral services will take place at Immanuel Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2011, with the Rev. Matthew Heron officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Erin's memorial fund at the TBA Credit Union in Traverse City.
